christmas

Christmas was so fun this year, we had lots of family parties and stuff to do. It was great to spend time with our families, both sides!!! Besides the family fun we ate and ate and ate and ATE!!! Fun Times. Actually more like fat times ... ugh ... resolution time.

why do I live here?

This picture was only the beginning, the drift grew and grew over night. You would not believe how big this sucker got.
So everyone just ask me what I've been doing the last few days.... Go Ahead....

Everyone: "Emily, what have you been doing the last few days?"

ME: " Oh nothing, just been trapped in my house because of a giant snowdrift, my now immaculately laundered and scrubbed down house, that had no water yesterday because it was so cold a water main snapped and they turned off all of the water for the whole town. I did venture out to go to church, prepared an awesome lesson for my class, because I had so much time being trapped indoors I could. Was 5 mintues into the best lesson ever, then got interupted because church got cancelled because it was too cold for life. That's all, going slowly crazy, minute by minute, second by second..."

Friday Night = Movie Night

I thought that it's be a fun idea for me to post a video tonight. Reasons being, I have NEVER posted a video on here before, and I just love this video. You'll love it too I bet. It was happening right before our eyes and we couldn't believe it ourselves... AMAZING.

christmas mischief

Aubrey has been getting herself into quite the predicaments lately. A day hasn't passed yet where I haven't found her opening cupboards, climbing up, into, over, and under things. She is so fast and hard to keep up with, right after I get one mess cleaned she makes another and so on and so forth! (But that is why I love her!) Anyways below are a few of the feats she has accomplished as of late.

This last week we also decorated for Christmas around here! I love getting all decked out for Christmas, I always feel the spirirt of the season best while decorating the tree. Since Andy and I have been married we've had quite the assortment of creative trees... Our first Christmas together we had a brown paper cut out tree decorated and taped to the wall of our basement suite. 2nd year was one of those spidery plants with a string of lights wrapped around it. 3rd year was a mini tree in a pot from the Safeway floral department, again sporting the one string of lights that we had, and last year was finally a real tree, very lopsided and uneven, Charlie Brown-esque I guess you could say. This year we decided to go with a "fakie" a good investment I'd say. We got a fake tree this year for one purpose only really, and that is Aubrey would pull all of the needles off of a real tree. I used to swear I'd never have a fake tree, but now that Aubrey is around I've changed my mind.

We had such a good time decorating the tree as a family, Will thought it was pretty awesome, everytime he went up to hang a ball on the tree he had to ask me "Mom, is this where this goes?" I kept telling  him that they can go anywhere you want, he was so worried about it though, it had to be just perfect. He actually "gets" Christmas this year which is great. He'll flip when he sees his presents, we got him just what he asked for.

gymnastics grad

Yesterday was Will's last day of gymnastics, this is the first "sport" that we enrolled Will in and he did AWESOME. He really loves to climb and jump off of stuff and that is exactally what they get to do in this class. Here are some pictures of him having a blast on his last day. The first picture is of Will getting his report card and candy cane. GOOD JOB BUDDY!! We are proud of you!!!

long legs, sunset and messy face...

I feel that it's been a long time since I posted last, but really I think I did a post like 4 days ago or something ridiculous like that. This post is entitled long legs, sunset and messy face. Which you already might have guessed is about the pictures posted above. We haven't really been doing anything exciting as of late. Just hanging around home and trying to resist the urge to Christmas shop. Reason being Lethbridge Park Place Mall just got a Lululemon and I would probably go a blow all the money I have for shopping on me at that store. sigh . one day Em, one day...
Anyways I just thought that I throw up a couple randoms froom our week.
#1 is Aubrey drinking her "nilky" in the usual position, does it look like her legs are long? I will be so happy if this is the case! A daughter of mine actually having lengthy legs, Christmas miracle? maybe.
#2 is a beautiful sunset, Andrew always bugs me because I see something like that gorgeous Southern Alberta sunset and my first thought is "Where's the camera?" I am definitely my dad's daughter. What a beautiful sight. This is one reason I love our new house, it's set up in a way that there are no houses across the street and we can see out into the field, nothing blocking our view. If we had some binoculars I could actually spy on Aunt Debby, Uncle Ian and Grandpa Wood. I should invest...
#3 is just a picture of Aubrey and I in front of another one of my painting jobs, this ones in the kitchen. I also posted it because I NEVER put pictures up of myself on here, so there I am!
#4 is Aubrey AGAIN, I just can't get enough of her. Last Sunday she just started saying words, it's amazing! Her messy face is from eating a "NACK!!" (snack). She says lots of things now. Nilky (bottle), AH MAH (Oh man!), Wuw (Will), and just about anything else you tell her to say. She really hadn't spoken before that alot, she is finally blooming!

getting into the christmas "spirits"...

Today Will and Aubrey  invited a couple friends over to decorate cookies and do a Christmas craft. It was fun to see all of the creations and to eat a bunch of delicious cookies. We'll have to do it again soon!!! The one thing that did not turn out so great is that I found Will hiding in his closet drinking baby Tylenol. I asked him what he was doing and he said he had a headache, resonable enough I guess.... I take Tylenol when I have a headache, why shouldn't Will? But all in all we had a great time listening to Christmas music and flinging icing on our cookies. Thanks for coming Gage, Addi, Austin, Macy, Olivia and Lauren!!!

will's view on things

Today I was uploading my pictures onto the computer and something caught me by suprise, I didn't take those... Will must have snuck the camera and had a secret photoshoot with Aubrey. These are just so cute. I will only post the Aubrey pictures, there's more, but they are all quite incriminating shots and one unflattering view of my butt. (But who am I kidding are any shot of my butt flattering? that's why I started working out...) ENJOY!

sharing

I love to see this, my actual hard work as a momma is paying off. I love to watch Will be a big brother and do his part to help Aubrey... seconds later he quickly pulled away the popsicle and Aubrey had a fit. But I captured something lovely, it's true what they say that pictures never tell the whole story.
So I'm bored and I thought that I would do a random blog just to type. I can never fall asleep early (or at all for that matter) when Andy is on night shifts, so I choose tonight to write. I AM tired, but just can't sleep. We have been having quite the eventful couple of days at our house. Aubrey got sick, her very first real pukey sick. She threw up 11 times in one hour. I love laundry, whenever I do it I am so thankful for washers and dryers, just think of how people used to do their washing...brutal.
Whatelse...Today I got my bangs trimmed and I FINALLY started working out again, I don't know why I didn't start sooner, it makes you feel so good! I don't know what spurred on this sudden urge, I think it was because I tried on my grad dress and couldn't zip that baby up...UGH! But I am excited to be visiting with my good friend Sharon Mann every morning now. I love my workout video to death. There is only one thing that bugs me about it and it is this, there is always one guy participating in the workouts, his name is Bruce, and Sharon Mann is always so googley-eyed over him, she talks all about him all the time, about his kids and how he can make his technique better, pretty much picks on this man. She also talks about how HOT he is and I'm sorry to say that he is NOT. Poor Bruce and your tight in all the wrong places spandex. ( I hope he doesn't read this...)

cute-sy

There are 2 things that I LOVE alot.

#1. Is "cute-sifying" my kids.
#2. Is "cute-sifying" my home.

I did both in the last week, proud of me?

Here are my "cute-sifyed" Will and Aubrey getting ready to go skating.
and here is the baby lady by herself, being extra cute-sy.
Here is a before of the innards of my drawers in the kitchen
and here is the "cute-sifyed" version of them now. I love contact paper. It has become my new friend.

before and after

I DID IT!!! I went with everyone's kind suggestions and changed to brown! I'm so glad that I did! What do you think now? Hopefully you like it, I'm NOT painting that wall ever again.
The green has been moved to a new wall in our kitchen, I like it there much better.

happy halloween!!!

Happy Halloween!!!
Here are a few pics from our spooky day...

We all had alot of fun! Andy actually didn't have to work (hallelujah)! We took the kids around to Grandpa Wood's, Grandpa Earl and Connie's, Granny Myra's, Inga and Aaron's, Grandma D's and then out to Grandpa Ricky and Grandma Dixie's house!! What a trip! Then we ordered some pizzas, went and picked them up and went home to wait for our own trick-or-treaters. Some finally arrived and what proceeded was probably Wills most terrifying moment of his life as of yet... At the door there was a couple boys and they were all dressed in scary costumes and all had masks on. Will opened the door and started SCREAMING and BAWLING!!! He kept saying, " I WANT MY MOMMA!!!!" He was super scared! Poor guy! But right after they left and we got him calmed down, of course, he was acting all tough. I am getting myself prepared for a sleepless night, there is no question Will is going to have bad dreams tonight!

accomplishments

It looks like today is off to a great start! I sent the kids downstairs to play while I was eating breakfast and came down to witness this...

WHAT?!?! How did she do that?! Either Andy or I must have monkey genes!! Probably Andrew. Hehehe!!!!

Okay so here is MY accomplishment....
I actually hung some shelves!! I am empowered, I totally rock!! Just call me "handy".
So I need some feed back here, once I hung this shelf up I realized that I don't really LOVE the green wall anymore and I just want to paint it a really dark dark brown instead. What do you think? Keep the green or do the brown?

10.27.2008

this is the reason i wake up every morning.

ummmm...happy belated birthday!!!

Soooooooo, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ANDY!!! My main man turned 25 on the 16th of October! What?! I'm late?! I've been meaning to post these pictures. I'm only 11 days off! Anyways, we all love your guts!!! Here are some great sights to behold...
Sickest kiss ever caught on camera... and sickest cake ever baked!
Daddy and the kids. Will is taking a picture with his invisible camera. And the first picture posted is Will treating us to one of his interpretive sparkler dances. What a great party!! Sorry Andrew, maybe next year will turn out better!
