potpourri

The day has come ... I'm a soccer mom!
Will started last week on Tuesday and LOVES it. Now all I need is a sweatshirt/sweatpants ensemble and some vinyl lettering on my van that says something such as... proud parent of an all-star or soccer mom for life!

I must say watching Will play/chase after the same ball that 20 other kids were chasing pulled my heartstrings a little. He's growing up. He's playing organized sports. Another thing I realized about myself is I am a "cheerer". Both Andy and I are, we were whooping is up for Will and getting some pretty weird looks. I'm sure once things get more intense I'm going to be one of those mom that's yells at the referee.

Oooooo lookee here, I've been sewing again, this time using a tutorial from www.makeit-loveit.com. This one turned out even cuter then my first attempt at dress making. It's made outta one of my old Shade shirts that had seen better days. CUUUUUTE!!!

It was warm last week, we felt all summer-y and as such dressed for the occasion.

We think this picture is funny. Poor Penny gets enough flack from her siblings and now is the main ingredient of a love sandwich from mom & dad. What's with Andrew's pirate eye? Love it!

the hat

We had so much fun this Easter Break! Andy had the whole week off (one of the perks of his job). We mostly just hung out at home, but on the weekend we decided to surprise Will and Aubrey and take them to Medicine Hat. Medicine Hat is their Mecca, I don't know why they love it so much, but it holds a special place in their tiny little hearts.

So we planned for Saturday, we packed up their swimming bag secretly and then went to clean the church in the morning. After we got done we headed out to Med. Hat. Andy and I decided that we wouldn't tell the kids where we were going until they asked, FINALLY about half way there Will pipped up and asked, "Is this the way to Lethbridge?" we said "no, this is the way to MEDICINE HAT!!!" Will almost lost it! He was so excited, it was hilarious. Aubrey screamed, "I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!"
We had our first 5 guys burgers and fries experience for lunch and it was pretty dang good!
Then we went to the mall. They had free face painting, can you guess what Will wanted?
Then we went swimming! Well, Penny and I watched, but everybody else went swimming.

When we were at the pool this lady kept walking by and we kept looking at each other, we knew that we knew each other from somewhere. She finally came up to me and said, "You're Inga's sister right?!?" She is Inga's husbands cousin, we met at a wedding shower once. It was just funny, I hear that alot. I think I do not look anything like Inga at all, but I guess alot of people do. I don't mind though Inga is hot!

It was a long day.

The shark shoes. When Will saw me blogging this morning he asked if I could take a picture of them and write about his shark shoes. We found these at the mall, Will saw them and started ripping off his other shoes in the hallway. He wanted to try them on SO BAD! They didn't have his size, we'd never seen Will so in love with a pair of shoes. So we bought them for him anyways with the thought that we could save them and he'd grow into them. WRONG. There was no waiting for Will, they are at least 2 sizes too big and he wears them constantly. He wore them out of the store, he wore them to bed that night and he wore them to church the next day. In primary he stood up and made everyone look at his shoes. Every day he asks to wear them, the second he wakes up. Well they are pretty cool!!!

He LOVES 'em!!!

I made it!

I made this little dress for Aubba a couple days ago. Since then I've made many more... I start to sew, then I become an addict. Don't make me start. It's my first attempt at any clothing piece and I think I did a pretty good job! Here's the tutorial if you want to make one too for your cute little girl. If I can do it so can you!

the latest and greatest.

As many of you know Will had a birthday just recently, here are some pictures of his party. Will wanted an Astroboy cake, I called the DQ and asked if they knew who Astroboy was, they said "no". So I printed off a picture and dropped it off and they said they'd see what they could do. I went to pick it up the next day and I've got to hand it to those little mennonite girls at the Dairy Queen. For not knowing who Astroboy was, they did a pretty good job, kudos ladies.

Here's Will and Aubba ready for church on Will's actual birthday. Aubrey is 2 and she knows it! Will on the other hand is a little confused on his age, it's still fresh. 4, Will, you are now 4.

AND little Penny Pincher turned 1 month on that same day! Isn't she just the cutest!?!

OH and on a side note, I got Will, Aubrey and Penny's pictures back today, taken by THIS fancy lady. I ordered an AWESOME GIGANTIC canvas, I'm so in love. Thanks Kyla! If you ever get the chance you NEED to get Kyla to take your pics, she makes you look hot, and somehow makes your kids look cuter then they already are. She's MAGIC!
